National Bureau of Statistics: In 2023, The National Output of Optical Cable is 323 Million Core Kilometers

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics show that in 2023, the cumulative value of domestic optical cable production reached 323 million core kilometers, and the cumulative output of optical cable fell 6.7% year-on-year.

In 2023, the digital economy will accelerate, the 400G backbone network will set sail, and the demand for G.654E fiber will begin to cash in, ushering in a large-scale deployment cycle. At the same time, the popularization of gigabit optical network is accelerating, and the momentum of FTTR is flourishing, which brings new imagination to optical fiber and cable manufacturers.

It is worth mentioning that in 2023, the overseas market has become an important "granary" for the head optical fiber and cable manufacturers. Market agency CRU forecasts that global cable demand will grow at a CAGR of about 4% between 2023 and 2027, exceeding 650 million core kilometers by the end of 2027.

CRU noted that various funding initiatives focused on bridging the "digital divide" will increase the speed of deployment in the United States. National FTTH schemes in the UK, Germany and Italy will support healthy growth in cable demand in Europe. Driven by the third phase of the BharatNet initiative to build a national fibre network, emerging markets represented by India will once again stand out.
